Athens Mobility Manager

Hello everyone! I’m Jessie Schmitzer, the Mobility Coordinator for Athens County.

As the Mobility Coordinator one of my goals is to connect community members to the different modes of transportation options available. From trains to planes, bikes to taxis, whether it’s for leisure, necessity, or medical reasons, I’m here to help people get where they need to go.  As transportation options expand in the community, it’s my job to make utilizing them clear, easy, and stress-free.  If you are an individual or community group that needs help understanding and using community transportation options- please reach out, I will do all I can to help!

Even with a wide variety of transportation options available in Athens County, there are still many gaps. The lives of all individuals can be empowered and our entire community strengthened by coordinating transportation services and exploring new opportunities to improve transportation options.  By identifying different mobility and transportation gaps and needs within the community I’m able to work with different organizations to find solutions and keep Athens County moving!
