Logan Public Transit - Part-Time Driver

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action (HAPCAP) is seeking dependable and service-
oriented individuals to join our team as Part-Time Drivers for Logan Public Transit (LPT).

Logan Public Transit is a curb-to-curb transportation system serving residents throughout
Hocking County. Drivers play an important role in helping community members access work,
medical appointments, school, shopping, and other essential destinations. LPT also provides
transportation to medical appointments in surrounding metropolitan areas.

This is a fast-paced and rewarding position for individuals who enjoy driving, working with the
public, and making a difference in their community. Drivers must be comfortable working both
independently and as part of a team, possess strong communication skills, and be able to assist
passengers from a wide range of backgrounds and abilities. We are looking for candidates that
are able to work weekends to support a seasonal fixed route service.

Community Health Specialist - Food & Nutrition

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action (HAPCAP) is looking for a Community Health Specialist to work with our HAPCAP for Health team at the Southeast Ohio Foodbank in Logan, OH, with a caseload primarily in Gallia County. As a member of our team, you will work to further health access, food security, and equity for our rural neighbors.

The Community Health Specialist will conduct case management with neighbors in our Bringing Healthy Home (Maternal/Prenatal) and Food as Medicine programs, primarily for residents of Gallia, Meigs, and Jackson Counties. The Community Health Specialist will meet with program participants on a regular basis, conducting home visits to deliver food and other materials. They will assess goals and assist with accessing resources and supportive services to meet health and social needs. They will also serve as a liaison between participants and healthcare professionals to help address barriers to healthcare access.

Successful candidates will have the ability to work well with a wide range of staff, partners, neighbors, and vendors. Additionally, the candidate will need to establish and maintain good relationships with community-based organizations, social service agencies, healthcare providers, and managed care providers for referral of participants and care coordination.

A high school diploma or GED is required. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. In addition, applicants must possess very good computer and organizational skills and have the ability to communicate with people of all socioeconomic backgrounds. A commitment to addressing the causes and conditions of poverty and hunger is essential. Current certification as a Community Health Worker is preferred, but not required. Candidates will be required to complete the Community Health Worker course and become certified by the Ohio Board of Nursing within 6 months of hire.

This is a full-time position within a dynamic, service-oriented work environment. The salary for this position starts at $37,500 annually and includes 100% health, dental, and vision coverage for the employee, a generous paid time off package, retirement plan with 6% employer matching, and periodic Cost of Living Adjustments (COLA).

Seasonal Warehouse Associate - Foodbank

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action (HAPCAP) is now accepting applications for the position of Seasonal Warehouse Associate based at the Southeast Ohio Foodbank in Logan. This position supports our Children’s Summer Meals Program, which distributed 136,530 meals to children in Southeast Ohio in 2025. The position is responsible for pre-packing meal bags, preparing and loading trucks, and distributing meals for our established Summer Meals sites.

Applicants must have a GED or a high school diploma, reliable transportation, and a valid driver’s license.  This is a safety-sensitive, seasonal, full-time position expected to last approximately 3 months, from mid-May through mid-August.  Hours of work are normally 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday – Friday, which includes a 30-minute paid lunch period. This position is NOT eligible for Agency benefits or paid time off.

Successful candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check, must be insurable and able to safely operate powered pallet jacks and other equipment, and must be subject to drug testing, including random testing, during their employment.

Warehouse Associate - Foodbank

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action (HAPCAP) is recruiting to fill a Warehouse Associate position for the Southeast Ohio Foodbank & Regional Kitchen.  Job responsibilities include overseeing the fulfillment of pantry orders; picking up donated food from grocery chains or other donors; maintaining paperwork, invoices, signature logs, and records of donated food; unloading all incoming deliveries; assisting the Foodbank Coordinator in physical inventory of all products received into the Foodbank; and assisting in the general cleaning of all warehouse, freezer, cooler, and dry storage spaces.

Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.  Hours of work 7:00AM to 3:00PM, Monday – Friday, which includes a 30-minute paid lunch period. Foodbank Clerk - Foodbank

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action (HAPCAP) is looking for a Foodbank Clerk at the Southeast Ohio Foodbank in Logan. Responsibilities include but are not limited to fielding phone calls, entering data, invoicing, and assisting with reports. The Clerk will assist the Foodbank Operations Manager with completing all Foodbank orders/invoices and acknowledgements of Donation forms. They will answer the warehouse phone and take dock appointments for incoming food deliveries. They may also answer questions from pantries regarding accounting matters, grant balances, or how to use ordering software.

Bus Driver in Athens and Nelsonville: This is a 17-hour-per-week (split shift), 10-month position at $20.97 per hour.  Must be able to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a school bus endorsement and be able to pass drug and alcohol screenings.  Must have the ability to cope with stressful situations as related to pre-school and special needs children.

Janitor in New Lexington:This is a 20-hour-per-week position at $17.36 per hour, 10 months per year.  Applicants must have at least a high school diploma or GED and be able to pass a physical exam and criminal background checks. Must possess the ability to do hard physical labor, lifting/carrying/moving of supplies, tables, bookshelves, running a buffer, etc.

Center-Based Teacher in New Lexington: This is a 40-hour-per-week position, working 10 months a year. A Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education is strongly preferred. Consideration may be given for an Associate’s degree.  Salary is $18.92–$25.54 per hour, depending on educational qualifications, with a full benefits package.

Laborer - Home Weatherization Program:

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action (HAPCAP) is seeking applications to fill available full-time laborers in our Housing and Community Development Division. The laborer position provides assistance in completing units for our Home Weatherization Assistance Program (HWAP) which provides energy efficient measures in client’s homes such as blown in insulation, air sealing, and ventilation. Applicants must have basic knowledge of or interest in the construction trades, be able to work at heights and/or in confined spaces, and be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

Applicants must have completed or be willing to complete training courses, including but not limited to EPA Lead RRP, Basic Weatherization Tactics, Blower Door Use, and OSHA 10.

The position will be based at our Housing Office, located in Nelsonville. The starting salary is $15.38/hour ($32,000/yr) with full fringe benefits, including but not limited to
paid sick and vacation leave, select paid holidays, and health, dental, and vision insurance.

Athens Public Transit Driver - Part Time & Full Time

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action (HAPCAP) is seeking dependable, customer-focused individuals to join the team as full-time and part-time Drivers for Athens Public Transit (APT).

APT provides fixed-route public transportation throughout Southeast Ohio, connecting the communities of Athens, The Plains, Chauncey, Nelsonville, and Albany. Drivers play an essential role in helping passengers safely travel to work, school, shopping, medical appointments, entertainment, and other destinations.

This is a fast-paced and rewarding position for individuals who enjoy serving the public, working independently, and being part of a team that helps keep the community connected.

Position Responsibilities

  • Safely operate transit vehicles while following all traffic laws and transit policies
  • Provide courteous and professional customer service to passengers
  • Maintain schedules and communicate effectively with dispatch and other team members
  • Assist passengers as needed, including individuals with disabilities
  • Conduct vehicle inspections and complete required reports and documentation
  • Maintain a safe and respectful environment for passengers and coworkers

Pay Rates

Starting wages are based on license type:

  • Class A or B CDL with passenger and air brake endorsements: $16.35/hour
  • Class C CDL with passenger endorsement: $15.87/hour
  • Non-CDL (Class D license): $15.39/hour

Part-Time Benefits

  • Approximately 25 hours per week

Full-Time Benefits

Schedule

Job Supervisor - Housing Office

Division. The Job Supervisor position is responsible for supervising assigned crew for
the Home Weatherization Assistance Program (HWAP) and WarmChoice Program
which provides energy efficient measures in client’s homes such as blown in

Heating Technician

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action is excited to announce a new position at the
agency, Heating Technician. HAPCAP is seeking to recruit one of these positions to
assist our Home Weatherization Assistance Program (HWAP) program with HVAC
related work as it pertains to energy conservation as well as health and safety in residential
settings.

Applicants must have at least one year of HVAC experience (two preferred) and the EPA 608
Technician Certification Type II or Universal. Applicants must be able to work at heights as
well as in confined spaces and must possess an ability to achieve production requirements.
Applicants must be highly organized and attentive to detail, have a strong work ethic, possess a
valid Ohio driver’s license, have a good driving record and have access to reliable transportation.
The successful applicant must have or be able to complete training programs such as Heating
Technician Training, Heating Unit Inspection, Lead EPA RRP, and OSHA 10. The salary for
Heating Technician is $40,000 - $45,000 per year with full fringe benefits including but not
limited to paid sick and vacation leave, select paid holidays, and health, dental, and vision
insurance.
