Head Start Position Openings

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action’s Head Start Program has immediate openings for the following positions:

Teachers in Corning, Nelsonville, and New Lexington:  These are 40 hour per week positions working 10 months a year.  Applicants must have at least an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education with preference given to those with a BA.  Salary is $13.12 - $18.77 an hour depending on educational qualifications with a full benefit package.

Early Head Start Home Visitor in New Lexington:  This is a 40 hour per week position working 12 months a year.  Applicants must have at least an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education with preference given to those with a BA.  Salary is $12.73 - $15.72 an hour depending on educational qualifications with a full benefit package.

Janitor in Laurelville and Nelsonville:  These are an 8-15 hour per week positions at $9.76 per hour, 10 months a year.  Applicants must have at least a high school diploma.

Bus Monitor in New Lexington and Logan:  These are 15 hours per week positions at $9.49 per hour, 10 months a year.  Applicants must have at least a high school diploma.

Kitchen Aide in Corning: This is a 11 hour per week position at $9.49 per hour, 10 months a year.  Applicants must have at least a high school diploma and a valid driver’s license.

Classroom Aide in New Lexington:  This is a 10 hour per week position at $9.49 per hour, 10 months a year.  Applicants must be willing to make  regular progress towards obtaining a CDA within 2 years of employment.

Staff Accountant

This position is responsible for maintaining/balancing Operation Statements, analysis of financial information, prepares financial reports, liability reports, profit and loss statements and other financial activities as assigned.

At least one year accounting experience is preferred. Applicants should be capable of working individually and as a team, possess excellent communication and computer skills, and have the ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals. An Associate’s Degree in Accounting or a similar field is required. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and thorough knowledge of accrual based accounting. In addition, applicants must be bondable, have good time management skills, willing to work flexible hours and be able to pass a criminal background check. The salary range for this position starts at $34,000 and includes a full fringe benefits package.

Foodbank Operations Specialist

We are now accepting resumes for the position of Foodbank Operations Specialist stationed at our Regional Food Center in Logan. The position acts as a liaison and handles day to day operation of the Foodbank programs. This position assists in the operation and oversight of product inventory as well as in the scheduling of pick-ups and deliveries to and from the warehouse.

The Foodbank Operations Specialist is responsible for scheduling and handling the distribution of product at community sites.  It also oversees tracking and ordering of commodities and other supplies for the program.  The position is responsible for the submission of all inventory reports to funding authorities or others as required.

Candidates must have a High School diploma or GED with an Associate’s Degree preferred in a social service-related field with program coordination experience.  Previous foodbank experience is a plus. Applicants must also have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license. Salary range for this position begins at $30,000 and includes a full fringe benefits package. Perry County Job Coach

We have multiple Job Coach Position openings with the Perry County Comprehensive Case Management & Employment Program (CCMEP), a program funded by Perry County Job and Family Services. The ideal candidates are community oriented, enthusiastic about working with local youth, and have experience with computers and or online learning.

Job Coach: Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Mentoring local youth, helping program participants develop essential employment skills necessary for future career success, working with online training providers, providing technical support, developing online workshops, and fostering a positive working relationship between the participants and HAPCAP.

Foodbank Warehouse Laborer

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action (HAPCAP) is recruiting to fill a Foodbank Warehouse Laborer position for the Southeast Ohio Foodbank & Regional Kitchen.  Job responsibilities include overseeing the fulfillment of orders; picking up donated food from grocery chains or other donors; maintaining paperwork, invoices, signature logs, and records of donated food; unloading all incoming deliveries; assisting the Foodbank Coordinator in physical inventory of all products received into the Foodbank; and assisting in the general cleaning of all warehouse, freezer, cooler, and dry storage space.

Part-time Maintenance Worker

Athens Public Transit Maintenance Worker

We are now accepting applications for a Maintenance Worker.  Duties would include, but not limited to, serving as a custodial worker with responsibility to maintain all Athens Public Transit fleet vehicles and the facility in a state of cleanliness and order after each daily service shift.  Performs both interior cleaning/detailing and exterior washing on vehicles.  Maintains equipment, facility and grounds.  Secures vehicles, facility and grounds at shift-end.  This is a permanent part time position, working second and third shifts.

Athens Public Transit Drivers

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action (HAPCAP) is seeking dynamic and experienced people to fill available positions for full and part time Athens Public Transit (APT) Drivers.

Athens Public Transit is a public transit fixed route service connecting Athens, The Plains, Chauncey, Nelsonville and Albany, providing transportation to the general public.  This fast paced and diverse position is responsible for transporting the public to various destinations within the service area whether for work, school, shopping or entertainment.

We are looking for applicants who are capable of working individually and as a team, possess excellent communication skills, excellent driving skills and have the ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals.  A Class B CDL with passenger and air brake endorsement is required.

This position will be based at our APT garage, located in Athens. The starting salary is $12.02 an hour.  Buses operate Monday-Saturday with day, eve and late night shifts.

Athens On Demand Transit Drivers

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action's Athens On Demand Transit program is accepting applications for part-time drivers. This position is less than 30 hours per week at $10.10 per hour.  Hours vary weekly.

Qualifications Include:

  • High School diploma or GED completion
  • You must submit to an FTA/DOT alcohol and drug test at this zero tolerance site
  • Must pass a background check and additional training
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record
  • Must be reliable, dependable and able to drive in all weather conditions for extended periods
  • Possess basic math skills and normal hearing and vision with the aid of corrective devices, if needed
  • Must have the ability to bend, crouch, kneel, push and pull, while assisting passengers that may use mobility devices
  • Must be free from fainting, blackouts, dizziness or seizures
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
