Heating Technicians

We are excited to announce a new position at the agency, Heating Technician.  HAPCAP is seeking to recruit three of these positions to assist our Home Weatherization Assistance Program (HWAP) program with HVAC related work as it pertains to energy conservation as well as health and safety in residential settings.

Applicants must have at least one year of HVAC experience (two preferred) and the EPA 608 Technician Certification Type II or Universal.  Applicants must be able to work at heights as well as in confined spaces and must possess an ability to achieve production requirements.  Applicants must be highly organized and attentive to detail, have a strong work ethic, possess a valid Ohio driver’s license, have a good driving record and have access to reliable transportation.  The successful applicant must have or be able to complete training programs such as Heating Technician Training, Heating Unit Inspection, Lead EPA RRP, and OSHA 10.  The salary for Heating Technician is $34,000 - $39,100 per year with full fringe benefits including but not limited to paid sick and vacation leave, select paid holidays, and health, dental, and vision insurance.

Weatherization Laborer

Grants & Contracts Manager

We are now accepting resumes for the position of Grants and Contracts Manager stationed at our Regional Food Center in Logan. The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, and is responsible for the management of the full cycle of grants: research, application, submission and reporting to support the mission of the Southeast Ohio Foodbank and Regional Kitchen.

The position is responsible for performing duties including but not limited to; developing and writing grant proposals, preparing grant reports, arranging site visits and other funder-related meetings and communications, conducting prospect research on existing and prospective funding sources, and supporting the development team in fundraising efforts such as donor management and engagement, active participation in marketing meetings, and campaign and event creation and implementation.  Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree. Applicants must also have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.

Maintenance Worker

We are now accepting resumes for the position of Maintenance Worker stationed at our Regional Food Center in Logan. The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, and is responsible for orderly and timely maintenance and janitorial services of assigned buildings and facilities.

The position is responsible for performing work including but not limited to; cleaning building floors by sweeping and mopping, washing windows, scrubbing or vacuuming, gather and empty trash bins, service, clean, or supply restrooms; planned maintenance, regular servicing, troubleshooting, repair and overhauling of equipment such as; air compressors, pumps, environmental changing devices, mechanical equipment or electrical, pneumatic and electronic components, and replacement of all types of pumps or refrigeration equipment, according to prints, specifications, diagrams or other instructions.  Grounds maintenance is also a requirement.

Foodbank Warehouse Laborer

We are recruiting to fill a Foodbank Warehouse Laborer position for the Southeast Ohio Foodbank & Regional Kitchen.  Job responsibilities include overseeing the fulfillment of orders; picking up donated food from grocery chains or other donors; maintaining paperwork, invoices, signature logs, and records of donated food; unloading all incoming deliveries; assisting the Foodbank Coordinator in physical inventory of all products received into the Foodbank; and assisting in the general cleaning of all warehouse, freezer, cooler, and dry storage space.

Perry County Job Coaches

We are excited to announce multiple Summer Job Coach Position openings with the Perry County Comprehensive Case Management & Employment Program (CCMEP), a program funded by Perry County Job and Family Services. The ideal candidates are community oriented, enthusiastic about working with local youth, and have experience with computers and or online learning.

Job Coach: Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: Mentoring local youth, helping program participants develop essential employment skills necessary for future career success, working with online training providers, providing technical support, and fostering a positive working relationship between the participants and HAPCAP.

The pay is $12.80 per hour. Athens Public Transit Drivers

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action (HAPCAP) is seeking dynamic and experienced people to fill available positions for full and part time Athens Public Transit (APT) Drivers.

Athens Public Transit is a public transit fixed route service connecting Athens, The Plains, Chauncey, Nelsonville and Albany, providing transportation to the general public.  This fast paced and diverse position is responsible for transporting the public to various destinations within the service area whether for work, school, shopping or entertainment.

We are looking for applicants who are capable of working individually and as a team, possess excellent driving skills, communication skills, and have the ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals. A Class B or C CDL license with passenger and air brake endorsement is required.

This position will be based at our APT garage, located in Athens. The starting salary is $12.02/hour for Class B CDL and $11.06/hour for Class C CDL. Full-time positions include a full fringe benefits package. Both part-time and full-time positions include paid sick, vacation, and holiday leave. Buses operate Monday-Saturday with day, evening, and late night shifts.

Transit Operations Administrator

We are announcing an immediate opening of Transit Operations Administrator. This administrator will be joining a close-knit, mission-driven team at HAPCAP. If you are a motivated, insightful, and open-minded leader, we want to hear from you!

The Administrator will be responsible for the oversight of daily operational activities including supervising operations staff, oversight of the transit facility, and assuring compliance with Ohio Department of Transportation and the Federal Transit Administration guidelines, regulations, and standards.

The salary for this full time position starts at $44,000 - $52,800 and includes a full fringe benefits package. Applicants should be capable of working individually and as a team, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, think creatively, and enjoy working with others. In addition, applicants should be able to demonstrate the ability to supervise 20+ staff and be adaptable to change in a fast-paced environment. Basic knowledge of common computer programs such as Word, Excel, and other software are essential. A college degree is preferred, but relevant work experience, education, or training may be sufficient. Experience in the field of transportation is preferred.

Head Start Positions

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action’s Head Start Program has immediate openings for the following positions:

Teachers in Nelsonville and New Lexington:  These are 40 hours per week positions working 10 months a year.  Applicants must have at least a CDA and be willing to work toward an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education with preference given to those with a BA.  Salary is $12.82 - $19.32 an hour depending on educational qualifications with a full benefit package.

Janitor in Nelsonville:  This is a 17 hour per week position at $10.96 per hour, 10 months a year.  Applicants must have at least a high school diploma.

Bus Monitor in Nelsonville: This is a 10 hour per week position at $10.68 per hour, 9-10 months a year.  Applicants must have at least a high school diploma.

Classroom Aide in Nelsonville:  This is a 10 hour per week position at $10.68 per hour, 10 months a year.  Applicants must be willing to make regular progress towards obtaining a CDA within 2 years of employment.

Athens On Demand Transit Drivers

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action's Athens On Demand Transit program is accepting applications for part-time drivers. This position is less than 30 hours per week at $10.10 per hour.  Hours vary weekly.

Qualifications Include:

  • High School diploma or GED completion
  • You must submit to an FTA/DOT alcohol and drug test at this zero tolerance site
  • Must pass a background check and additional training
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record
  • Must be reliable, dependable and able to drive in all weather conditions for extended periods
  • Possess basic math skills and normal hearing and vision with the aid of corrective devices, if needed
  • Must have the ability to bend, crouch, kneel, push and pull, while assisting passengers that may use mobility devices
  • Must be free from fainting, blackouts, dizziness or seizures
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
