Foodbank Clerk

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action is now accepting resumes for the position of Foodbank Clerk stationed at our Regional Food Center in Logan. This position assists the Southeast Ohio Foodbank with completing all Foodbank orders and invoices for our agency network. Candidates must possess strong clerical and organizational skills. Duties include, but are not limited to; monitoring all agency payments when applicable, handling all clerical duties involved with Acknowledgement of Donation forms with retail partners, assisting in completing poundage reports, filing order/damage forms, inventory adjustments, scheduling dock appointments, and fielding questions regarding agency accounts, grant balances, etc.

Head Start Family and Community Partnerships Coordinator

Operations Manager

We are excited to announce an immediate opening for an Operations Manager position located in the main office in Glouster.

This position provides direct human resources support to the agency as well as administrative and secretarial support to the Executive Director and the Director of Finance & Administration.

Duties include onboarding new employees through new hire paperwork, background checks, and more. This position is also responsible for the minutes, set-up, take-down, and meal orders for Board and Executive Committee meetings. The Operations Manager supervises and trains receptionist staff on the agency’s telephone system, organizes and executes agency safety trainings, and performs other duties as assigned.

An associate’s degree in Human Resources is preferred, but candidates with a high school diploma or equivalent with two years management/HR experience will be considered.

Head Start Positions

HAPCAP's Head Start program has the following openings available:

Center Based Teacher in Nelsonville and Laurelville:  This is a 40 hour per week position working 10 months a year.  Applicants must have at least an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education with preference given to those with a BA.  Salary is $13.73 – $ 20.58 an hour depending on educational qualifications with a full benefit package.

Early Head Start Home Visitor in Nelsonville and New Lexington:  This is a 40 hour per week position working 12 months per year.  Applicants must have an Associate Degree in a related field with preference given to those with a BA.   Salary is $12.50 – 18.05 per hour, depending on educational qualifications with a full benefit package.

Classroom Aide in Glouster:  This is a 40 hour per week position working 10-12 months per year. Applicants are required to have a degree in Early Childhood Education or willing to make regular progress towards obtaining a CDA within 2 years of employment.  Salary is $12.50 – 14.80 per hour, depending on educational qualifications with a full benefit package.

Kitchen Aide in Laurelville:  This is an 11 hour per week position at $12.50 per hour, 10 months a year.  Applicants must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and be insurable. Must have high school diploma or GED and be able to pass a physical exam.

Senior Nutrition Specialist

This position assists in the operation and oversight of all senior feeding initiatives related to the Southeast Ohio Regional Kitchen. Duties include, but are not limited to: coordinating and compiling all Meals on Wheels data including daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reports, surveys, and assessments; maintaining and monitoring a centralized intake system for enrolling eligible applicants; recruiting new clients and ensuring the programs continue to expand and meet their objectives; acting as a liaison and serving as the point person for all senior feeding programs in the Regional Kitchen; and serving as a back-up or fill in for meal deliveries and kitchen preparation.

Upon hire, the candidate is required to complete the ServSafe Training during the Probationary Period. Hunger & Health Associate (VISTA)

We are excited to announce an immediate opening for a Hunger & Health Associate VISTA at the Southeast Ohio Foodbank in Logan, Ohio. As the VISTA Member at the Southeast Ohio Foodbank, you will increase community access to healthy food by establishing a new distribution location in Athens, Hocking, or Perry County. Working with healthcare physicians and foodbank staff, you will strategically select fresh food items to distribute in the interest of addressing common chronic diseases such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and hypertension. Working to strengthen collaborations with healthcare partners and other community members, you will initiate new patient referral systems and enlist community members as volunteers to promote nutrition education at distribution sites. Finally, you will craft necessary communications materials to disseminate at distributions and on social media. These materials will serve to promote nutrition education and spread awareness of resources available in the community.

Warehouse Laborer

We are recruiting to fill five Foodbank Warehouse Laborer positions for the Southeast Ohio Foodbank & Regional Kitchen.  Job responsibilities include overseeing the fulfillment of orders; picking up donated food from grocery chains or other donors; maintaining paperwork, invoices, signature logs, and records of donated food; unloading all incoming deliveries; assisting the Foodbank Coordinator in physical inventory of all products received into the Foodbank; and assisting in the general cleaning of all warehouse, freezer, cooler, and dry storage space.

Community Development Coordinator

We are excited to announce the position opening of Community Development Coordinator.   The CD Coordinator will be responsible for the development and implementation of but not limited to American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (CSLFRF) programming within the region as well as Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding opportunities. This will include coordinating funding opportunities with units of local government, conducting meetings with community and regional stakeholders and the public, development and implementation of regional community development strategies, and applying for grants and other funding as appropriate and reporting. The salary range for this full time position is $46,000 - $52,000 and includes a full fringe benefits package.

Laborers

We are seeking applications to fill available full time Laborers in our Housing and Community Development Division.  The laborer position provides assistance in completing units for our Home Weatherization Assistance Program (HWAP) which provides energy efficient measures in client’s homes such as blown in insulation, air sealing, and ventilation.

Heating Technician

We are seeking to recruit two Heat Technicians to assist our Home Weatherization Assistance Program (HWAP) program with HVAC related work as it pertains to energy conservation as well as health and safety in residential settings.

Applicants must have at least one year of HVAC experience (two preferred) and the EPA 608 Technician Certification Type II or Universal.  Applicants must be able to work at heights as well as in confined spaces and must possess an ability to achieve production requirements.  Applicants must be highly organized and attentive to detail, have a strong work ethic, possess a valid Ohio driver’s license, have a good driving record and have access to reliable transportation.  The successful applicant must have or be able to complete training programs such as Heating Technician Training, Heating Unit Inspection, Lead EPA RRP, and OSHA 10.

The salary for Heating Technician is $40,000 - $45,000 per year with full fringe benefits including but not limited to paid sick and vacation leave, select paid holidays, and health, dental, and vision insurance.

Athens Public Transit Drivers

We are seeking dynamic and experienced people to fill available positions for full and part time Athens Public Transit (APT) CDL Drivers.

APT is a public transit fixed route service connecting Athens, The Plains, Chauncey, Nelsonville and Albany, providing transportation to the general public.  This fast paced and diverse position is responsible for transporting the public to various destinations within the service area whether for work, school, shopping or entertainment.

We are looking for applicants who are capable of working individually and as a team, possess excellent driving skills, communication skills, and have the ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals. A Class B CDL license with passenger and air brake endorsement or a Class C CDL license with passenger endorsement required. This position will be based at our APT garage, located in Athens. The starting salary is $14.42/hour ($30,000/yr) for Class B CDL and $13.46/hour ($28,000/yr) for Class C CDL. Full-time positions include a full fringe benefits package. Both part-time and full-time positions include paid sick, vacation, and holiday leave. Buses operate Monday-Saturday with day, evening, and late night shifts.
