Agency Relations Specialist

We are now accepting resumes for the position of Agency Relations Specialist stationed at our Regional Food Center in Logan. The position is responsible for maintaining and overseeing day-to-day relations between member agencies, feeding sites, and the Southeast Ohio Foodbank and Kitchen.  Candidates must possess strong skills in personal and public communication, as well as the ability to work with people of all ages and socio-economic backgrounds.

Duties include, but are not limited to: acting as a liaison between the Foodbank and member agencies/feeding sites in assigned counties; ensuring compliance standards are met at agency sites; planning and scheduling agency meetings and trainings; providing programming assistance for HAPCAP’s Food and Nutrition Division, including Summer Feeding and the Commodity Supplemental Food Program; screening new agencies and their personnel, reviewing agency eligibility, overseeing completion of all forms, conducting site visits, training agencies/feeding sites and their staff; recruiting new member agencies; sourcing targeted food items for the agency’s purchasing program; and promoting advocacy to aid in hunger relief policies.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED equivalency with an associate’s degree or higher preferred. Candidates must have excellent face-to-face presence with strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to work a flexible schedule. Applicants must also have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.

Transit Driver

We are accepting applications for the position of Transit Driver for the Athens County Summer Employment Program.

Duties include: using a company vehicle to transport participants to various destinations in Athens County, communicating with participants regarding scheduling requests, and maintaining and coordinating all trip logs. This is a full-time, seasonal position. The position will operate out of Glouster. The pay range is $12.50-$13.47 per hour.

Qualifications for this position include the following: High School Diploma or GED equivalent, strong customer communication skills, basic math skills, a valid driver’s license, and a good driving record. LPT is a curb to curb transportation system serving individuals across Hocking County. This fast paced and diverse position is responsible for transporting the public to various destinations within the county whether for work, medical appointments, school, shopping or entertainment. Transit Dispatcher

Our Transportation Division is excited to announce the immediate opening of Transit Dispatcher for our Athens On Demand Transit (AODT) program. The Dispatcher will be joining a close-knit, mission-driven team at HAPCAP.

Responsibilities include scheduling trips for the public, communicating with drivers for passenger pickups and returns, maintaining trip logs, answering calls, and helping the public understand how to use the system. The individual will also be trained to drive passengers when needed.

AODT is a curb to curb transportation system serving Athens County. AODT transports the public to various destinations within the county whether for work, medical appointments, school, shopping or entertainment.

Applicants should be capable of working individually and as a team, think creatively, and enjoy working with others. Basic knowledge of common computer programs such as Word, Excel, and other software is essential.  In addition, applicants must have strong customer-oriented communication skills and have empathy for the needs, limitations, and problems of the elderly and individuals with disabilities. Weatherization Laborer

We are seeking applications to fill available full-time Laborer positions in our Housing and Community Development Division.  The laborer position provides assistance in weatherizing homes for our Home Weatherization Assistance Program (HWAP) which provides energy efficient measures in client’s homes such as blown in insulation, air sealing, and ventilation.

Applicants must have basic knowledge of or interest in the construction trades, be able to work at heights and/or in confined spaces, and be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.   Applicants must have completed or be willing to complete training courses to include but not limited to:  EPA Lead RRP, Basic Weatherization Tactics, Blower Door Use, and OSHA 10.

The position will be based at our Housing Office, located in Nelsonville.  The starting salary is $28,000 annually with full fringe benefits including but not limited to paid sick and vacation leave, select paid holidays, and health, dental, and vision insurance.

Heating Technicians

We are seeking to recruit two heating technicians to assist our Home Weatherization Assistance Program (HWAP) program with HVAC-related work as it pertains to energy conservation as well as health and safety in residential settings.

Applicants must have at least one year of HVAC experience (two preferred) and the EPA 608 Technician Certification Type II or Universal.  Applicants must be able to work at heights as well as in confined spaces and must possess an ability to achieve production requirements.  Applicants must be highly organized and attentive to detail, have a strong work ethic, possess a valid Ohio driver’s license, have a good driving record and have access to reliable transportation.  The successful applicant must have or be able to complete training programs such as Heating Technician Training, Heating Unit Inspection, Lead EPA RRP, and OSHA 10.

The starting salary for Heating Technician is $40,000 annually per year with full fringe benefits including but not limited to paid sick and vacation leave, select paid holidays, and health, dental, and vision insurance.

Temporary Summer Feeding Driver

Temporary Warehouse Laborers

We are now accepting resumes for the position of (2) Temporary Foodbank Laborers for the Southeast Ohio Foodbank & Regional Kitchen in Logan.  These positions are full-time, temporary, and lasting for 3 months from mid-May through mid-August.  They are designed to assist with our Summer Meals programing as well as other Foodbank duties.  Job responsibilities include overseeing the fulfillment of orders; distributing meals at our Summer meal sites; maintaining paperwork, invoices, signature logs, and records of commodities; unloading all incoming deliveries; assisting the Foodbank Coordinator in physical inventory of products received into the Foodbank; and assisting in the general cleaning of all warehouse, freezer, cooler, and dry storage space.

Employment Program AmeriCorps VISTA

We are seeking a curious, motivated, and organized AmeriCorps VISTA member to help us tell our story more effectively and improve our services offered.

Communication: The VISTA will help us tell our story to potential clients and community partners by developing a communication strategy and content that informs and sparks excitement around our mission and purpose. They will use their communication and design skills to create effective printed promotional materials, capture and write client stories, and develop social media content, including regular posts and short videos.

Program Development: The VISTA will also help improve current programming and develop new programming that will lead to employment opportunities for low-income youth in Hocking County. These could include, but are not limited to a mentoring program, job shadowing program, internship program, and job search/career related workshops.

Evaluation: The VISTA will also take lead on evaluating current programs and any new programs that are developed to ensure that our programs are operating effectively and efficiently, and that they are meeting our clients’ needs.

We are looking for applicants who are capable of working both individually and as a team, and possess excellent communication and critical thinking skills. This position will be based at the Regional Food Center, located in Logan, OH. We are seeking dynamic and experienced people to fill available positions for full and part time Athens Public Transit (APT) CDL Drivers.

APT is a public transit fixed route service connecting Athens, The Plains, Chauncey, Nelsonville and Albany, providing transportation to the general public.  This fast paced and diverse position is responsible for transporting the public to various destinations within the service area whether for work, school, shopping or entertainment.

We are looking for applicants who are capable of working individually and as a team, possess excellent driving skills, communication skills, and have the ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals. A Class B CDL license with passenger and air brake endorsement or a Class C CDL license with passenger endorsement required. Background checks, drug screens and a good driving records are also required. Training is provided.

This position will be based at our APT garage, located in Athens. The starting salary is $14.42/hour ($30,000/yr) for Class B CDL and $13.46/hour ($28,000/yr) for Class C CDL. Full-time positions include a full fringe benefits package. Both part-time and full-time positions include paid sick, vacation, and holiday leave. Buses operate Monday-Saturday with day, evening, and late night shifts.
