Hocking Athens Perry Community Action (HAPCAP) is excited to announce that it has an immediate opening for a Human Resources Coordinator at the Central Office in Glouster, Ohio. This position is responsible for the administration of human resources and agency benefit plans; assisting in agency compliance with all Federal, State and Local laws, and regulatory agencies; and serving as HAPCAP’s Equal Employment Officer and Safety Coordinator.

A four year degree in Human Resources is preferred, but a two year degree in accounting or a business related field with two years of experience is acceptable. Applicants should be capable of working individually and as a team, possess excellent communication and computer skills, and have the ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. In addition, applicants must be bondable, have good time management skills, be willing to work flexible hours, and be able to pass a criminal background check. Temporary Summer Feeding Driver

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action (HAPCAP) is now accepting resumes for the positions of Temporary Summer Feeding Driver and Temporary Summer Feeding Aide stationed at our Regional Food Center in Logan. The positions are responsible for handling, preparing, storing, and delivering meals to our established Summer Feeding sites, reporting roster information, assisting in packaging and loading of meals, and serving as liaisons between the participants and the kitchen.

Applicants must have GED or high school diploma.  Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.  These positions are full-time, temporary, and lasting for 3 months from mid-May through mid-August.  Hours of work 7:00AM to 3:00PM, Monday – Friday.

Broadband Coordinator

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action (HAPCAP) is excited to announce a position opening for the Athens County Broadband Coordinator. The Coordinator is responsible for working with community organizations, government officials, internet service providers and the general public to implement strategies that are outlined in the Athens County Coordinated Broadband Plan. Current strategies focus on broadband infrastructure, access, affordability, digital inclusion and remote work. Responsibilities include applying for and administering grants and other funding as appropriate.  The salary range for this full time position starts at $46,000 and includes a full fringe benefits package.

A strong foundation has been laid regarding broadband work over the last year and there is a lot of opportunity with this position to create a difference in our community.  Applicants should be capable of working individually and as a team, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, think creatively, and enjoy working with others. In addition, applicants should be able to demonstrate evidence of being self-motivated, have the ability to multi-task while working in a fast paced environment, and be willing to learn new skills. Basic knowledge of common computer programs such as Word, Excel, and other software are essential. A college degree is preferred, but relevant work experience, education, or training may be sufficient. This position has been made possible with support from the Athens County Foundation.

Heating Technician

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action is excited to announce a new position at the
agency, Heating Technician. HAPCAP is seeking to recruit one of these positions to
assist our Home Weatherization Assistance Program (HWAP) program with HVAC
related work as it pertains to energy conservation as well as health and safety in residential settings.

Applicants must have at least one year of HVAC experience (two preferred) and the EPA 608 Technician Certification Type II or Universal. Applicants must be able to work at heights as
well as in confined spaces and must possess an ability to achieve production requirements.
Applicants must be highly organized and attentive to detail, have a strong work ethic, possess a valid Ohio driver’s license, have a good driving record and have access to reliable transportation.

The successful applicant must have or be able to complete training programs such as Heating Technician Training, Heating Unit Inspection, Lead EPA RRP, and OSHA 10. The salary for Heating Technician is $40,000 - $45,000 per year with full fringe benefits including but not limited to paid sick and vacation leave, select paid holidays, and health, dental, and vision
insurance.

Head Start Openings

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action’s Head Start Program has openings for the following positions:

Center Based Teacher in Athens and Nelsonville:  This is a 40 hour per week position working 10 months a year.  Applicants must have at least an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education with preference given to those with a BA.  Salary is $13.73 – $ 20.58 an hour depending on educational qualifications with a full benefit package.

Early Head Start Home Visitor in Nelsonville and New Lexington:  This is a 40 hour per week position working 12 months per year.  Applicants must have an Associate Degree in a related field with preference given to those with a BA.   Salary is $12.50 – 18.05 per hour, depending on educational qualifications with a full benefit package.

Bus Driver in New Lexington:  This is a 17 hour per week, 10-month position at $17.38 an hour.  Must be able to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a school bus endorsement and be able to pass drug and alcohol screenings.  Must have the ability to cope with stressful situations as related to pre-school and special needs children.

Meal Driver in New Lexington: This is a 10 hour per week position at $12.50 per hour, 10 months a year.  Applicants must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and be insurable. Must have high school diploma or GED and be able to pass a physical exam and a criminal background checks.

Janitor in Logan:  This is a 14 hour per week position at $12.78 per hour, 10 months a year.  Applicants must have at least a high school diploma or GED and be able to pass a physical exam and criminal background checks. Must possess the ability to do hard physical labor, lifting/carrying/moving of supplies, tables, bookshelves, running a buffer, etc.

Laborer - Housing & Community Development

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action (HAPCAP) is seeking applications to fill available full time Laborers in our Housing and Community Development Division.  The laborer position provides assistance in completing units for our Home Weatherization Assistance Program (HWAP) which provides energy efficient measures in client’s homes such as blown in insulation, air sealing, and ventilation.

Applicants must have basic knowledge of or interest in the construction trades, be able to work at heights and/or in confined spaces, and be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.   Applicants must have completed or be willing to complete training courses to include but not limited to:  EPA Lead RRP, Basic Weatherization Tactics, Blower Door Use, and OSHA 10.

The position will be based at our Housing Office, located in Nelsonville.  The starting salary is $13.46/ hour ($28,000/yr) with full fringe benefits including but not limited to paid sick and vacation leave, select paid holidays, and health, dental, and vision insurance.

Athens Public Transit Drivers

We are seeking dynamic and experienced people to fill available positions for full and part time Athens Public Transit (APT) CDL Drivers.

APT is a public transit fixed route service connecting Athens, The Plains, Chauncey, Nelsonville and Albany, providing transportation to the general public.  This fast paced and diverse position is responsible for transporting the public to various destinations within the service area whether for work, school, shopping or entertainment.

We are looking for applicants who are capable of working individually and as a team, possess excellent driving skills, communication skills, and have the ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals. A Class B CDL license with passenger and air brake endorsement or a Class C CDL license with passenger endorsement required. Background checks, drug screens and a good driving records are also required. Training is provided.

This position will be based at our APT garage, located in Athens. The starting salary is $14.42/hour ($30,000/yr) for Class B CDL and $13.46/hour ($28,000/yr) for Class C CDL. Full-time positions include a full fringe benefits package. Both part-time and full-time positions include paid sick, vacation, and holiday leave. Buses operate Monday-Saturday with day, evening, and late night shifts.
