Weatherization Laborer

We are seeking applications to fill available full-time Laborer positions in our Housing and Community Development Division.  The laborer position provides assistance in weatherizing homes for our Home Weatherization Assistance Program (HWAP) which provides energy efficient measures in client’s homes such as blown in insulation, air sealing, and ventilation.

Applicants must have basic knowledge of or interest in the construction trades, be able to work at heights and/or in confined spaces, and be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.   Applicants must have completed or be willing to complete training courses to include but not limited to:  EPA Lead RRP, Basic Weatherization Tactics, Blower Door Use, and OSHA 10.

The position will be based at our Housing Office, located in Nelsonville.  The starting salary is $28,000 annually with full fringe benefits including but not limited to paid sick and vacation leave, select paid holidays, and health, dental, and vision insurance.

Heating Technicians

We are seeking to recruit two heating technicians to assist our Home Weatherization Assistance Program (HWAP) program with HVAC-related work as it pertains to energy conservation as well as health and safety in residential settings.

Applicants must have at least one year of HVAC experience (two preferred) and the EPA 608 Technician Certification Type II or Universal.  Applicants must be able to work at heights as well as in confined spaces and must possess an ability to achieve production requirements.  Applicants must be highly organized and attentive to detail, have a strong work ethic, possess a valid Ohio driver’s license, have a good driving record and have access to reliable transportation.  The successful applicant must have or be able to complete training programs such as Heating Technician Training, Heating Unit Inspection, Lead EPA RRP, and OSHA 10.

Temporary Summer Feeding Driver

We are excited to announce multiple summer Job Coach positions across Hocking, Athens, and Perry Counties.

Applicants for the Job Coach positions should enjoy working with youth and young adults, be community oriented, and have a passion for helping others. Development Director

We are seeking a dynamic professional to serve as our Development Director, a position that will play an integral role in leading HAPCAP’s philanthropic strategy to address ongoing and emergent needs in the communities we serve.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Development Director will oversee all fundraising and public relations functions for the agency, and will serve as a member of the executive leadership team. Duties include the development and implementation of a multifaceted fundraising strategy to include donor cultivation, direct-mail campaigns, fundraising events, capital campaigns, corporate/foundation partner engagement, and managing our online giving platform, among others.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required experience/education for this position includes:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Communications, or related area of study.
  • Management and/or leadership experience.

Agency Relations Specialist

Outreach Worker

Community Relations Specialist

Teachers in Athens, Nelsonville and New Lexington:  These are 40-hours per week positions working 10 months a year.  Applicants must have at least a CDA and be willing to work toward an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education with preference given to those with a BA.  Salary is $12.82 - $19.32 an hour depending on educational qualifications with a full benefit package.

Full Time Classroom Aide: This is a 40-hour a week position, 9-10 months a year at $10.68 - $12.07 an hour. This position will travel to the different centers as needed.

Employment Program AmeriCorps VISTA

We are seeking a curious, motivated, and organized AmeriCorps VISTA member to help us tell our story more effectively and improve our services offered.

Communication: The VISTA will help us tell our story to potential clients and community partners by developing a communication strategy and content that informs and sparks excitement around our mission and purpose. They will use their communication and design skills to create effective printed promotional materials, capture and write client stories, and develop social media content, including regular posts and short videos.

Program Development: The VISTA will also help improve current programming and develop new programming that will lead to employment opportunities for low-income youth in Hocking County. These could include, but are not limited to a mentoring program, job shadowing program, internship program, and job search/career related workshops.

Evaluation: The VISTA will also take lead on evaluating current programs and any new programs that are developed to ensure that our programs are operating effectively and efficiently, and that they are meeting our clients’ needs.

Summer Associate - AmeriCorps VISTA

We are seeking an individual that is passionate about gardening, working with youth, and increasing access to locally-grown, healthy foods.

The Summer Garden Manager will manage a community garden that will be a worksite for 2 to 4 youth from HAPCAP’s employment programs. With the assistance of the participants, the Garden Manager will care for the upkeep of the garden and plan ways to distribute produce. They will be in charge of supervising participants, which will include giving daily direction to participants, enforcing safety protocols, and providing regular feedback/evaluation.

The Manager will also be responsible for providing programming: They will plan two agriculture-based career exploration opportunities that will be offered to program participants across all three counties. They will also provide healthy living programming, including putting together bi-weekly meal kits and recipes using garden produce to be distributed to participants. Lastly, they will also maintain an Instagram profile by sharing gardening tips, recipes, and healthy living advice to the greater public.

We are looking for applicants who are capable of working both individually and as a team, and possess excellent communication and critical thinking skills. This position will be based at the Regional Food Center, located in Logan, OH. The program benefits include a stipend and choice of education award or end of service stipend. Athens Public Transit Drivers

We are seeking dynamic and experienced people to fill available positions for full and part time Athens Public Transit (APT) CDL Drivers.

APT is a public transit fixed route service connecting Athens, The Plains, Chauncey, Nelsonville and Albany, providing transportation to the general public.  This fast paced and diverse position is responsible for transporting the public to various destinations within the service area whether for work, school, shopping or entertainment.
