This position assists the Southeast Ohio Foodbank with a range of clerical tasks. Candidates must possess strong time management and organizational skills. Basic computer skills are essential. We are looking for a smart, hardworking team member that wants to work
collaboratively towards ending hunger in Southeast Ohio.

Duties include, but are not limited to; processing agency orders, handling clerical duties, assisting in completing required reports, filing order/damage forms, tracking inventory and making adjustments, filing and organizing paperwork, scheduling dock
appointments and food distribution events, and fielding questions from agencies and
community members. Duties may also include attending food distributions to assist with registration as needed.

Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Candidates must
have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and a good driving record. The
salary for this position is $28,000 annually and includes a full fringe benefits package.

Hunger & Health Associate VISTA

We are excited to announce an immediate opening for a Hunger & Health Associate VISTA at the Southeast Ohio Foodbank in Logan, Ohio. As the VISTA Member at the Southeast Ohio Foodbank, you will work on the HAPCAP for Health team to further heath access and equity for our rural neighbors.

Your objective will be to increase access to healthy food by establishing groundbreaking projects and programs. Primarily, this will include establishing partnerships between local healthcare systems and food pantries to further food prescription programming by initiating new patient referral systems, data tracking methods, and test pilots.

Inasmuch, in order to meet the needs of our neighbors with high-risk health conditions, you will build out a program that specifically targets certain diseases, such as diabetes, heart disease, and high blood pressure. This will include strategically building out food prescriptions to include food items that are nutritional and mindful of cultural humility.

Social service programs, such as SNAP, WIC, and Medicaid, are also vital to ensuring long term supports for good health. You will work to engage our pantry network to train and deploy their staff and volunteers to assist clients where they’re already at with applying to these social service programs.

Finally, you will focus on building communications materials that serve to promote nutrition education and spread awareness of resources available in the community. These will be disseminated through programs, mobile markets, events, and social media.

Communications VISTA

The Southeast Ohio Foodbank has a story to tell – and we need a creative mind to help us craft it!

We are currently hard at work through the ups and downs of the pandemic, and current economic state. We are raising funds to support our mission virtually, and in person, supporting families suffering from food and economic insecurity, recruiting and welcoming volunteers back to our facility, communicating the impact of the pandemic on local families, and building our overall strategy to meet the increased needs of our neighbors.

We need a VISTA member who can assist with story collection efforts to document and communicate the impact on food security. This will include photography, videography, social media content, and editorial writing to reach a variety of audiences. There is also opportunity to recruit volunteers, create fundraising campaigns, and collaborate with Foodbank leadership in devising new communications strategies.

You will be part of a growing communications team that is passionate about economic justice in Appalachian Ohio. Day travel throughout the Foodbank's service area will be an often occurrence, so access to transportation is required. Mileage will be reimbursed by the agency. Additional requirements include strong visual communication and writing skills. Videography skills are encouraged but not required.

This position is responsible for the administration of human resources and agency benefit plans; assisting in agency compliance with all Federal, State and Local laws, and regulatory agencies; and serving as HAPCAP’s Equal Employment Officer and Safety Coordinator.

A four year degree in Human Resources is preferred, but a two year degree in accounting or a business related field with two years of experience is acceptable. Temporary Summer Feeding Driver

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action (HAPCAP) is now accepting resumes for the positions of Temporary Summer Feeding Driver and Temporary Summer Feeding Aide stationed at our Regional Food Center in Logan. The positions are responsible for handling, preparing, storing, and delivering meals to our established Summer Feeding sites, reporting roster information, assisting in packaging and loading of meals, and serving as liaisons between the participants and the kitchen.

Heating Technician

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action is excited to announce a new position at the
agency, Heating Technician. HAPCAP is seeking to recruit one of these positions to
assist our Home Weatherization Assistance Program (HWAP) program with HVAC
related work as it pertains to energy conservation as well as health and safety in residential settings.

Applicants must have at least one year of HVAC experience (two preferred) and the EPA 608 Technician Certification Type II or Universal. Applicants must be able to work at heights as
well as in confined spaces and must possess an ability to achieve production requirements.
Applicants must be highly organized and attentive to detail, have a strong work ethic, possess a valid Ohio driver’s license, have a good driving record and have access to reliable transportation.

The successful applicant must have or be able to complete training programs such as Heating Technician Training, Heating Unit Inspection, Lead EPA RRP, and OSHA 10. The salary for Heating Technician is $40,000 - $45,000 per year with full fringe benefits including but not limited to paid sick and vacation leave, select paid holidays, and health, dental, and vision
insurance.

Head Start Openings

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action’s Head Start Program has openings for the following positions:

Center Based Teacher in Athens and Nelsonville:  This is a 40 hour per week position working 10 months a year.  Applicants must have at least an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education with preference given to those with a BA.  Salary is $13.73 – $ 20.58 an hour depending on educational qualifications with a full benefit package.

Early Head Start Home Visitor in Nelsonville and New Lexington:  This is a 40 hour per week position working 12 months per year.  Applicants must have an Associate Degree in a related field with preference given to those with a BA.   Salary is $12.50 – 18.05 per hour, depending on educational qualifications with a full benefit package.

Bus Driver in New Lexington:  This is a 17 hour per week, 10-month position at $17.38 an hour.  Must be able to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a school bus endorsement and be able to pass drug and alcohol screenings.  Must have the ability to cope with stressful situations as related to pre-school and special needs children.

Meal Driver in New Lexington: This is a 10 hour per week position at $12.50 per hour, 10 months a year.  Applicants must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and be insurable. Must have high school diploma or GED and be able to pass a physical exam and a criminal background checks.

Janitor in Logan:  This is a 14 hour per week position at $12.78 per hour, 10 months a year.  Applicants must have at least a high school diploma or GED and be able to pass a physical exam and criminal background checks. Must possess the ability to do hard physical labor, lifting/carrying/moving of supplies, tables, bookshelves, running a buffer, etc.

Laborer - Housing & Community Development

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action (HAPCAP) is seeking applications to fill available full time Laborers in our Housing and Community Development Division.  The laborer position provides assistance in completing units for our Home Weatherization Assistance Program (HWAP) which provides energy efficient measures in client’s homes such as blown in insulation, air sealing, and ventilation.

Athens Public Transit Drivers

We are seeking dynamic and experienced people to fill available positions for full and part time Athens Public Transit (APT) CDL Drivers.

APT is a public transit fixed route service connecting Athens, The Plains, Chauncey, Nelsonville and Albany, providing transportation to the general public.  This fast paced and diverse position is responsible for transporting the public to various destinations within the service area whether for work, school, shopping or entertainment.

We are looking for applicants who are capable of working individually and as a team, possess excellent driving skills, communication skills, and have the ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals. A Class B CDL license with passenger and air brake endorsement or a Class C CDL license with passenger endorsement required. Background checks, drug screens and a good driving records are also required. Training is provided.

This position will be based at our APT garage, located in Athens. The starting salary is $14.42/hour ($30,000/yr) for Class B CDL and $13.46/hour ($28,000/yr) for Class C CDL. Full-time positions include a full fringe benefits package. Both part-time and full-time positions include paid sick, vacation, and holiday leave. Buses operate Monday-Saturday with day, evening, and late night shifts.
