Part Time On Call Maintenance Worker

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action is seeking a part time Maintenance Worker to be available to respond to emergency maintenance needs at Creekside Apartments in Chauncey, Ohio outside of standard business hours. The times of possible short notice need to respond will be from 4 PM – 8 AM daily Monday – Friday as well as all weekends and holidays. Hours of work will vary greatly, be inconsistent and will be based solely on after hours need.

Applicants will be expected to be able to perform a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled maintenance functions at any of the six buildings at Creekside Apartments and should have 1 year of maintenance experience. Applicants must be able to work on all aspects of the property both inside and out as well as in confined spaces and be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. Child Development Positions

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action’s Head Start Program has immediate openings for the following positions:

Early Head Start Home Visitor in Athens and New Lexington:  This is a 40 hour per week position working 12 months a year.   Applicants must have an associate degree in early childhood education or a related field with preference given to those with a BA.   Must be able to pass drug and alcohol screenings. Salary is $ 17.95 to $21.34 per hour depending on educational qualifications with a full benefit package.

Family Support Worker / Home Visitor in Nelsonville:  This is a 40 hour per week position working 10 months per year.  Applicants must have at least an Associate Degree in a related field with preference given to those with a BA.   Salary is $17.36 – $21.13 per hour, depending on educational qualifications with a full benefit package.  This position offers a full benefit package.  All applicants must be able to pass criminal background checks, drug testing and able to obtain a CDL (commercial driver’s license) with a school bus endorsement.

Full Time Classroom Aide:  This is a 40 hour per week position working 10-12 months per year. Applicants are required to have a degree in Early Childhood Education or willing to make regular progress towards obtaining a CDA within 2 years of employment.  Salary is $15.00 – $17.02 per hour, depending on educational qualifications with a full benefit package.

Substitute Teachers:  Applicants must have at least a High School Diploma/GED.  Salary is $15.00 – 22.96 per hour, depending on educational qualifications.  Hours will vary based on the need.

Bus Driver in Athens:  This is a 17 hour per week, 10-month position at $20.03 an hour.  Must be able to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a school bus endorsement and be able to pass drug and alcohol screenings.  Must have the ability to cope with stressful situations related to pre-school and special needs children.

GoBus Manager

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action (HAPCAP) is very excited to announce the immediate opening of Manager for the GoBus Intercity Bus Program. The Manager will join a close-knit, mission-driven team working to combat poverty and improve the lives of individuals across Ohio.

The Manager will be responsible for assigned components of the program including: oversight of daily administrative duties; maintaining and building relationships with vendors and partners; marketing and the marketing budget; and community outreach. Employment Services Coordinator

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action (HAPCAP) is seeking applicants to serve as Employment Services Coordinator in Hocking County. This position is responsible for a wide variety of dynamic and innovative programs that support youth ages 14-24 to meet their employment, education and life goals.

Responsibilities of this position include managing the day-to-day operations of the program, developing and implementing programming, grant management, financial management, case management and supervising staff. Maintenance Worker - SE Ohio Foodbank

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action is now accepting resumes for the position of Maintenance Worker stationed at our Regional Food Center in Logan. The position is part-time, 20 hours per week, and is responsible for orderly and timely maintenance and janitorial services of assigned buildings and facilities.

The position is responsible for performing work including but not limited to; cleaning building floors by sweeping and mopping, washing windows, scrubbing or vacuuming, gather and empty trash bins, service, clean, or supply restrooms. In addition, this position may aid the Facilities and Maintenance Coordinator on the following projects: planned maintenance, regular servicing, troubleshooting, and repair and overhauling of equipment such as; air compressors, pumps, environmental changing devices, mechanical equipment or electrical, pneumatic and electronic components, and replacement of all types of pumps or refrigeration equipment, according to prints, specifications, diagrams or other instructions.  Grounds maintenance is also a requirement.

Athens Public Transit - Class B CDL Driver

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action (HAPCAP) is seeking dynamic and experienced people to fill available positions for full and part-time Athens Public Transit (APT) CDL Drivers.

APT is a public transit fixed route service in Southeast Ohio. The service connects the communities of Athens, The Plains, Chauncey, Nelsonville, and Albany. This fast-paced and diverse position is responsible for transporting the public to various destinations within the service area whether for work, school, shopping, entertainment, and other locations.

We are looking for applicants who are capable of working individually and as a team, possess excellent driving skills, communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals. A Class A or B CDL license with passenger and air brake endorsement or Class C CDL license with passenger endorsement is required.

This position will be based at our APT garage, located in Athens. The starting salary for Class A and B CDL licensed driver is $15.39 ($32,000/yr). The starting salary for Class C CDL licensed driver is $14.42/hour ($30,000/yr). Both part-time and full-time positions include paid sick, vacation, and holiday leave. Full-time positions include a full fringe benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance at no cost to the employee, life insurance at no cost to the employee, and 401(k) enrollment after the first six months of employment with an employer-match program.

Buses operate Monday-Saturday with day, evening, and late-night shifts available.

Dining Site Aide

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action is now accepting resumes for the position of Congregate Dining Site Aide stationed at our congregate meal site in Athens. This position is responsible for meal service coordination at our congregate dining site in the Athens Community Center. Candidates must possess strong skills in personal communication with elderly populations, as well as the ability to work with people of all socio-economic backgrounds.

Duties include, but are not limited to: wrapping silverware, washing and sanitizing dishes and counters, cleaning dining tables, collecting signatures, all paperwork associated with the congregate site.

Heating Technician

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action is excited to announce a new position at the
agency, Heating Technician. HAPCAP is seeking to recruit one of these positions to
assist our Home Weatherization Assistance Program (HWAP) program with HVAC
related work as it pertains to energy conservation as well as health and safety in residential settings.

Applicants must have at least one year of HVAC experience (two preferred) and the EPA 608 Technician Certification Type II or Universal. Applicants must be able to work at heights as
well as in confined spaces and must possess an ability to achieve production requirements.
Applicants must be highly organized and attentive to detail, have a strong work ethic, possess a valid Ohio driver’s license, have a good driving record and have access to reliable transportation.

The successful applicant must have or be able to complete training programs such as Heating Technician Training, Heating Unit Inspection, Lead EPA RRP, and OSHA 10. The salary for Heating Technician is $40,000 - $45,000 per year with full fringe benefits including but not limited to paid sick and vacation leave, select paid holidays, and health, dental, and vision

Laborer - Housing & Community Development

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action (HAPCAP) is seeking applications to fill available full time Laborers in our Housing and Community Development Division.  The laborer position provides assistance in completing units for our Home Weatherization Assistance Program (HWAP) which provides energy efficient measures in client’s homes such as blown in insulation, air sealing, and ventilation.

Applicants must have basic knowledge of or interest in the construction trades, be able to work at heights and/or in confined spaces, and be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.   Applicants must have completed or be willing to complete training courses to include but not limited to:  EPA Lead RRP, Basic Weatherization Tactics, Blower Door Use, and OSHA 10.

The position will be based at our Housing Office, located in Nelsonville.  The starting salary is $13.46/ hour ($28,000/yr) with full fringe benefits including but not limited to paid sick and vacation leave, select paid holidays, and health, dental, and vision insurance.
