Temporary Warehouse Associate

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action (HAPCAP) is now accepting resumes for the position of Temporary Warehouse Associate for the Southeast Ohio Foodbank & Regional Kitchen in Logan.  Job responsibilities include overseeing the fulfillment of orders; loading pantries picking up orders; maintaining paperwork, invoices, signature logs, and records of commodities; unloading all incoming deliveries; assisting the Foodbank Coordinator in physical inventory of products received into the Foodbank; and assisting in the general cleaning of all warehouse, freezer, cooler, and dry storage space.

Applicants must have GED or high school diploma.  Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.  This position is full-time, temporary, and lasting for three months.  Hours of work 7:00AM to 3:00PM, Monday – Friday.

Foodbank Coordinator

Community Health Specialists

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action (HAPCAP) is looking for one or more Community Health Specialists to work with our HAPCAP for Health team at the Southeast Ohio Foodbank in Logan, OH. As a member of our team, you will work to further health access, food security, and equity for our rural neighbors.

The Community Health Specialist will conduct case management in our Bringing Healthy Home (Maternal/Prenatal) and Food as Medicine programs in Athens, Meigs, and Vinton counties. The Community Health Specialist will meet with program participants on a regular basis, conducting home visits to deliver food and other materials. They will assess goals and assist with accessing resources and supportive services to meet health and social needs. They will also serve as a liaison between participants and healthcare professionals, to help address barriers to healthcare access.

Successful candidates will have the ability to work well with a wide range of staff, partners, neighbors, and vendors. Additionally, the candidate will need to establish and maintain good relationships with community-based organizations, social service agencies, healthcare providers, and managed care providers for referral of participants and care coordination.

A high school diploma or GED is required. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. In addition, applicants must possess very good computer and organizational skills and have the ability to communicate with people of all socioeconomic backgrounds. A commitment to addressing the causes and conditions of poverty and hunger is essential. Current license as a Community Health Worker in Ohio is preferred but not required.

This is a full-time position within a dynamic, service-oriented work environment. The salary for this position starts and $37,500 annually and includes 100% health, dental, and vision coverage for the employee, a generous paid time off package, and retirement plan with 6% employer matching.

Health Programs Coordinator

Temporary Community Services Worker

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action is excited to announce that our Home Emergency Assistance Program (HEAP) is accepting resumes for a Temporary Community Services Worker position starting as soon as possible and lasting until approximately March 31, 2026.  The HEAP program provides critical support to our neighbors in need of help keeping their homes warm in the winter. The location for this position is in Glouster. Duties include customer service, application intake and eligibility for the energy assistance programs. Please consider joining our team and make a difference in the community!

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED equivalency, excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as excellent customer service skills, know basic math, computer knowledge including data entry, and the ability to pay close attention to detail and work independently as well as in a team, in a fast-paced environment. Applicants must also have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license. Background in social services with knowledge of area resources is a preferred, but not required.

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action’s Head Start Program has immediate openings for the following positions:

Kitchen Aide in Laurelville:  This is a 12 hour per week position at $16.36 per hour, 10 months a year.  Applicants must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and be insurable. Must have high school diploma or GED and be able to pass a physical exam and a criminal background checks.

Kitchen Aide in Athens:  This is a 17 hour per week position at $16.36 per hour, 10 months a year.  Applicants must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and be insurable. Must have high school diploma or GED and be able to pass a physical exam and a criminal background checks.

Bus Driver in Athens, Nelsonville, and New Lex:  This is a 17 hour per week (split shift), 10-month position at $20.97 an hour.  Must be able to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a school bus endorsement and be able to pass drug and alcohol screenings.  Must have the ability to cope with stressful situations as related to pre-school and special needs children.

Laborer - Home Weatherization Program: Hocking Athens Perry Community Action (HAPCAP) is seeking applications to fill available full-time laborers in our Housing and Community Development Division. The laborer position provides assistance in completing units for our Home Weatherization Assistance Program (HWAP) which provides energy efficient measures in client’s homes such as blown in insulation, air sealing, and ventilation. Applicants must have basic knowledge of or interest in the construction trades, be able to work at heights and/or in confined spaces, and be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

Applicants must have completed or be willing to complete training courses, including but not limited to EPA Lead RRP, Basic Weatherization Tactics, Blower Door Use, and OSHA 10.

The position will be based at our Housing Office, located in Nelsonville. The starting salary is $15.38/hour ($32,000/yr) with full fringe benefits, including but not limited to
paid sick and vacation leave, select paid holidays, and health, dental, and vision insurance.

Athens Public Transit CDL Driver - Part Time

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action (HAPCAP) is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to fill an available part-time Athens Public Transit CDL Driver.

APT is a public transit fixed route service in Southeast Ohio. The service connects the communities of Athens, The Plains, Chauncey, Nelsonville, and Albany. This fast-paced and diverse position is responsible for transporting the public to various destinations within the service area whether for work, school, shopping, entertainment, and other locations.

We are looking for applicants who are capable of working individually and as a team, possess excellent driving skills, communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals. A Class A or B CDL license with passenger and air brake endorsement or Class C CDL license with passenger endorsement is required.

This position will be based at our APT garage, located in Athens. The starting salary for Class A and B CDL licensed driver is $16.35/hour ($17,000/yr.).  The starting salary for Class C CDL licensed driver is $15.87/hour ($16,500/yr.)  Part-time position includes paid sick, vacation, and holiday leave.

Buses operate Monday-Saturday with day, evening, and late-night shifts.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class “B” with passenger endorsement
    (HAPCAP may be able to support applicants to get their passenger endorsement if they don’t already have it.)
  • One year minimum CDL driving experience.
  • Good driving record.
  • Self-motivated, able to work well both independently and with others.
  • Must have access to reliable transportation and report for duty on time; schedule-minded.
  • Must be in good general health and able to pass a DOT-mandated physical.
  • Must have normal vision and hearing with the aid of corrective devices if needed.
  • Must submit to FTA-approved drug/alcohol testing. This is a zero-tolerance work site.
  • Must pass a civilian background check and all DOT certifications and training.
  • Must have good basic math skills.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

Job Supervisor - Housing Office

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action (HAPCAP) is seeking applications to fill
available full time Job Supervisor in our Housing and Community Development
Division. The Job Supervisor position is responsible for supervising assigned crew for
the Home Weatherization Assistance Program (HWAP) and WarmChoice Program
which provides energy efficient measures in client’s homes such as blown in
insulation, air sealing, and ventilation. The Job Supervisor position is responsible for
maintaining inventory, completing assigned job specifications in compliance with
Standard Work Specifications, completing paperwork associated with job, and
providing consumer education. Candidate must be able to communicate well with
others including inspectors, clients, suppliers, and supervisor.

Heating Technician

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action is excited to announce a new position at the
agency, Heating Technician. HAPCAP is seeking to recruit one of these positions to
assist our Home Weatherization Assistance Program (HWAP) program with HVAC
related work as it pertains to energy conservation as well as health and safety in residential
settings.

Applicants must have at least one year of HVAC experience (two preferred) and the EPA 608
Technician Certification Type II or Universal. Applicants must be able to work at heights as
well as in confined spaces and must possess an ability to achieve production requirements.
Applicants must be highly organized and attentive to detail, have a strong work ethic, possess a
valid Ohio driver’s license, have a good driving record and have access to reliable transportation.
The successful applicant must have or be able to complete training programs such as Heating
Technician Training, Heating Unit Inspection, Lead EPA RRP, and OSHA 10. The salary for
Heating Technician is $40,000 - $45,000 per year with full fringe benefits including but not
limited to paid sick and vacation leave, select paid holidays, and health, dental, and vision
insurance.
