Housing Rehab Specialist

The Housing & Community Development Division is currently accepting applications and resumes for
a Housing Rehab Specialist at the Housing office in Nelsonville.

The essential job functions of the Housing Rehab Specialist are the day-to-day operations of the
Community Housing Impact & Preservation Program (CHIP) and Ohio Housing Trust Fund (OHTF)
Housing programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for initial and final home
inspections which includes being knowledgeable of the State of Ohio’s Residential Rehab Standards

Laborer - Housing Office

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action (HAPCAP) is seeking applications to fill

Job Supervisor - Housing Office

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action (HAPCAP) is seeking applications to fill
available full time Job Supervisor in our Housing and Community Development
Division. The Job Supervisor position is responsible for supervising assigned crew for
the Home Weatherization Assistance Program (HWAP) and WarmChoice Program
which provides energy efficient measures in client’s homes such as blown in

maintaining inventory, completing assigned job specifications in compliance with
Standard Work Specifications, completing paperwork associated with job, and
providing consumer education. Candidate must be able to communicate well with
others including inspectors, clients, suppliers, and supervisor.

Applicants must have basic knowledge of or interest in the construction trades, be
able to work at heights and/or in confined spaces, and be able to lift a minimum of 50

Heating Technician

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action is excited to announce a new position at the
agency, Heating Technician. HAPCAP is seeking to recruit one of these positions to
assist our Home Weatherization Assistance Program (HWAP) program with HVAC
related work as it pertains to energy conservation as well as health and safety in residential
settings.

Applicants must have at least one year of HVAC experience (two preferred) and the EPA 608
Technician Certification Type II or Universal. Applicants must be able to work at heights as
well as in confined spaces and must possess an ability to achieve production requirements.
Applicants must be highly organized and attentive to detail, have a strong work ethic, possess a
valid Ohio driver’s license, have a good driving record and have access to reliable transportation.
The successful applicant must have or be able to complete training programs such as Heating
Technician Training, Heating Unit Inspection, Lead EPA RRP, and OSHA 10. The salary for
Heating Technician is $40,000 - $45,000 per year with full fringe benefits including but not

Energy Programs Manager

The essential job functions of the Energy Programs Manager is the management of day to day operations of energy conservation programs to include Home Weatherization Assistance Program (HWAP), Electric Partnership Program (EPP), WarmChoice Program, and other related programs assigned.

The Energy Programs Manager will be responsible for supervising all energy
conservation staff as assigned by supervisor and provide reports as required. Must be able to
communicate well with others including funding sources, public administrators, clients, suppliers,
contractors, and staff. This position is responsible for initial and final inspections of all work
completed on energy conservation program units. This position requires completion of state
mandated trainings and certifications to include BPI Quality Control Inspector Certification/Energy Auditor Certification, Blower Door Use, Basic Weatherization Tactics, Consumer Energy Education, Electric Baseload Measures, NEAT/MHEA, Infrared Camera, Lead EPA RRP, Heating Unit Inspection, Heat Technician Training, Initial Inspection, and OSHA 30. Applicants must be highly organized and attentive to detail, have excellent written and verbal skills, possess a good driving record and have access to reliable transportation. Applicants must be able to bend, stoop, lift, walk; and/or stand for prolonged periods. Applicants may require heavy lifting of 50 lbs. or more.

Operations Manager

This position provides human resources support to the agency and Human Resources Administrator; this position shall also provide administrative and secretarial support to the Executive Director and the Director of Finance & Administration. This position is responsible for helping new hires complete paperwork, new hire orientation, background checks, BMV checks, typing, filing, scheduling of Board or Executive Committee meetings as needed, coordinating direct mailings, working on special projects, assembles highly confidential and sensitive information, deals with a diverse group of important external callers, clients, visitors as well as internal contacts at all levels of the organization.

An associate’s degree in business is preferred, but a high school diploma or equivalent, with two years of management/HR experience is acceptable. Senior Nutrition Specialist

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action is now accepting resumes for the position of Senior Nutrition Specialist stationed at our Southeast Ohio Foodbank in Logan. This position assists in the operation and oversight of all senior nutrition initiatives related to the Southeast Ohio Regional Kitchen. Candidates must possess strong skills in personal communication with elderly populations, as well as the ability to work with people of all socio-economic backgrounds.

Duties include, but are not limited to, coordinating and compiling all Meals on Wheels data including daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reports, surveys, and assessment. The successful candidate will also maintain and monitor a centralized intake system for enrolling eligible applicants and recruit new clients to ensure that the programs continue to expand and meet their objectives. The Senior Nutrition Specialist acts as a liaison and serves as the point person for all senior nutrition programs at the Southeast Ohio Foodbank. This position also serves as a back up or fill in for meal deliveries and kitchen preparation.

Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent with an Associate’s degree or higher preferred. Upon hire, the candidate is required to complete the ServSafe Training during the Probationary Period. Candidates must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and a good driving record.

Center Based Teacher in Athens, Nelsonville, Laurelville, and Logan:  This is a 40 hour per week position working 10 months a year.  Applicants must have at least an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education with preference given to those with a BA.  Salary is $17.84 – $22.96 an hour depending on educational qualifications with a full benefit package.

Meal Driver:  This is a 10 hour per week position at $15.00 per hour, 10 months a year.  Applicants must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and be insurable. Must have high school diploma or GED and be able to pass a physical exam and a criminal background checks.

Center Coordinator/ Family Partnership in Nelsonville:  This is a full time position working 12 months a year.  Applicants must be able to meet State and Federal licensing requirements for a Child Care Administrator.  A Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education with experience working in a child care setting is preferred.  An Associate degree with relevant experience may be considered.  Salary is 25.53- 26.63 an hour depending on educational qualifications.

Job Coach

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action (HAPCAP) is excited to announce multiple summer Job Coach positions across Hocking, Athens, and Perry Counties.

We are looking for responsible and motivated team players that have a passion for helping others. Ideal candidates are quick learners, highly organized, enjoy spending more time in the field than in the office, have computer experience and possess excellent communications skills.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: mentoring 14- to 24-year-olds, daily worksite visits, completing paperwork accurately, helping participants develop employment skills, program planning, and fostering a positive relationship between the participants and HAPCAP.

The pay is $15.87 per hour. This is a full time, seasonal position that will start in May and run through early August. All applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and reliable transportation.

Part Time On Call Maintenance Worker

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action is seeking a part time Maintenance Worker to be available to respond to emergency maintenance needs at Creekside Apartments in Chauncey, Ohio outside of standard business hours. The times of possible short notice need to respond will be from 4 PM - 8 AM daily Monday - Friday as well as all weekends and holidays. Hours of work will vary greatly, be inconsistent and will be based solely on after hours need.

Applicants will be expected to be able to perform a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled maintenance functions at any of the six buildings at Creekside Apartments and should have 1 year of maintenance experience. Applicants must be able to work on all aspects of the property both inside and out as well as in confined spaces and be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. Athens Public Transit - Class B & C CDL Drivers

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action (HAPCAP) is seeking dynamic and experienced people to fill available positions for full and part-time Athens Public Transit (APT) CDL Drivers.

APT is a public transit fixed route service in Southeast Ohio. The service connects the communities of Athens, The Plains, Chauncey, Nelsonville, and Albany. This fast-paced and diverse position is responsible for transporting the public to various destinations within the service area whether for work, school, shopping, entertainment, and other locations.

We are looking for applicants who are capable of working individually and as a team, possess excellent driving skills, communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals. A Class A or B CDL license with passenger and air brake endorsement or Class C CDL license with passenger endorsement is required.

This position will be based at our APT garage, located in Athens. The starting salary for Class A and B CDL licensed driver is $16.35 ($34,000/yr). The starting salary for Class C CDL licensed driver is $15.39/hour ($32,000/yr). Both part-time and full-time positions include paid sick, vacation, and holiday leave. Full-time positions include a full fringe benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance at no cost to the employee, life insurance at no cost to the employee, and 401(k) enrollment after the first six months of employment with an employer-match program.

Buses operate Monday-Saturday with day, evening, and late-night shifts available.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class "B" with passenger endorsement
