INDEPENDANCE DAY SENIOR COOKOUT
Hosted by SE Ohio Foodbank and the United Seniors of Athens – JULY 3 AT 11AM
ATHENS—Join us for lunch at the Athens Community Center! Enjoy cookout food and refreshments with senior friends, family, and Athens County neighbors on July 3 from 11AM – 12PM. The SE Ohio Foodbank, a HAPCAP program, will provide a cookout-inspired meal to those 60 years of age and older. Guests under 60 are welcome to attend and can receive a meal for $4.50. All meals are diabetic-friendly.
The Senior Cookout is an event of Athens Congregate Dining in partnership with the United Seniors of Athens. A short application is required on your first visit. Applications for this event can be found HERE or by contacting (800) 385-6813 Ext. 2217. In addition to a hot nutritious meal, congregate dining encourages positive social interaction and access to community resources. Athens Congregate Dining also serves lunches daily, Monday through Friday.

The SE Ohio Foodbank is a program of Hocking Athens Perry Community Action (HAPCAP), a private nonprofit dedicated to alleviating the impacts of poverty, and a member of Feeding America. Headquartered in Logan, Ohio, the SE Ohio Foodbank serves 10 counties, including Athens, Gallia, Hocking, Jackson, Lawrence, Meigs, Morgan, Perry, Vinton, and Washington.
