SafeLink - Free Cellphone Assistance

SafeLink is a free cell phone and minutes program for those who are income-eligible.

We provide information, brochures and applications to help eligible low-income families access free cell phone and cell phone services that will help them stay connected with current or potential employers, children and relatives, health care specialists, and vital emergency responders.

Eligibility guidelines vary, but in general, individuals qualify if you participate in a public assistance program such as Food Stamps, Medicaid, Supplemental Security Income, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Home Energy Assistance Program, National Free School Lunch, Federal Housing/Section 8 Assistance, or if you do not receive any of these public assistance programs, you may also qualify based on total household gross monthly income.

If the service is available in your area you can obtain a phone by having a total household income of 135% below the poverty guidelines set by your state or the federal government. Please provide your physical address to receive a phone from Safelink. Safelink will not send phones to a P.O. Box, Homeless Shelter, a Battered Women's Shelter or a Residential Treatment Facility. Safelink will only send one phone per household.
