Hunger Action Month is a Feeding America campaign to address hunger in our communities. We engage our neighbors through fundraising, volunteering, advocating, and educating others about hunger and food insecurity. This is a very real issue in our region, and every day we encounter community members who must make difficult tradeoffs in order to feed themselves and their families.
Here at the Southeast Ohio Foodbank, we're working hard to encourage our friends and neighbors to take action. Here are ways you can get involved:
*Sign up for a volunteer event! We are always seeking volunteers to help pack food boxes, distribute food directly at public events, and more! If you're interested, please send us a note at volunteer@hapcap.org.
*Vote! Elected officials make important decisions about funding to support Foodbanks and other important anti-hunger programs like SNAP and WIC. If you're not registered, you can do so here (the deadline is October 4th for the November general election).
*Help us spread the word! Please share our campaign page with other like-minded folks who share our desire to end hunger in Southeast Ohio.
*Finally, support the Hunger Action Month campaign through a donation! All donations directly benefit the Foodbank and help us to do more to help those in need. Consider building a team and involving coworkers, friends, and relatives to support the cause!
Thank you for your support of our work, and for everything you do to make Southeast Ohio a great place to live, work and play.
P.S. We're going LIVE on Facebook from 12pm-2pm on Hunger Action Day, September 17th! This will include a tour of our foodbank, interviews with foodbank staff, and more! Mark your calendars and visit our Facebook page for more information! We will also be active on Instagram and Twitter throughout the month.
