LOCAL GENEROSITY BRINGS HOLIDAY CHEER TO SENIORS
SE Ohio Foodbank delivers meals and gifts to older adults.
The SE Ohio Foodbank is accepting donations for its annual Secret Santa for Super Seniors initiative, which helps bring holiday gifts to seniors who receive meals through HAPCAP’s Regional Kitchen.
The Regional Kitchen, a program of Hocking Athens Perry Community Action (HAPCAP), delivers meals to seniors in Hocking and Athens counties through its Meals on Wheels program. For many seniors, these deliveries are also an important connection to the community, especially during the winter months when cold weather and snowy roads can make it harder to get out.
Meals on Wheels drivers check in with seniors throughout the year and learn about their needs and wishes. Through Secret Santa for Super Seniors, community members can help fulfill some of those wishes during the holiday season.
“I want our seniors to know that people care about them, that their community cares about them,” says Naomi Squires, Foodbank Operations Director.
This year, community members can select a gift tag from the Secret Santa tree at the SE Ohio Foodbank in Logan. Those who prefer to shop online can also purchase items through the program’s Amazon Wish List.
All gifts and orders must be turned in or received by December 4, 2026.
Physical gifts can be dropped off at the SE Ohio Foodbank, located at 1005 CIC Drive, Logan, OH 43138. For questions about the program, contact info@hapcap.org.
