Hocking Athens Perry Community Action’s Head Start Program has immediate openings for the following positions:
Bus Driver in Athens, Nelsonville, and New Lexington: This is a 17-hour per week, 10-month position at $20.97 an hour. Must be able to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a school bus endorsement and be able to pass drug and alcohol screenings. Must have the ability to cope with stressful situations as related to pre-school and special needs children.
Bus Monitor in Logan: This is a 15-hour per week position paying $16.36 an hour, working 10-months a year. All applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, be able to pass criminal background checks. Must have the ability to cope with stressful situations as related to pre-school and special needs children.
Classroom Aide in Athens: Duties include assisting in the classroom, keeping children safe, assisting teachers in the implementation of the program’s curriculum and school readiness goals. Applicants are required to have a degree in Early Childhood Education or be willing to make regular progress towards obtaining a CDA within 2 years of employment. This position is a part-time position, working 2-6 hours per day, five days a week, for 10 months a year. Salary is $16.36-18.92 per hour. AmeriCorps Positions: HAPCAP for Health
In support of the mission of The Ohio Association of Foodbanks, members of Healthy Harvest Corps will support a coordinated statewide effort to prioritize investments in scaling and sustaining food as medicine initiatives. Members will support new, emerging, and expanding services that address hunger as a social determinant of health.
General Service Schedule: Our agency’s standard hours are 8am-4pm, Monday-Friday. The member’s typical work schedule will be: (8am-4pm, Monday-Friday).

Athens Public Transit CDL Driver - Part Time
Hocking Athens Perry Community Action (HAPCAP) is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to fill an available part-time Athens Public Transit CDL Driver.
APT is a public transit fixed route service in Southeast Ohio. The service connects the communities of Athens, The Plains, Chauncey, Nelsonville, and Albany. This fast-paced and diverse position is responsible for transporting the public to various destinations within the service area whether for work, school, shopping, entertainment, and other locations.
We are looking for applicants who are capable of working individually and as a team, possess excellent driving skills, communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals. A Class A or B CDL license with passenger and air brake endorsement or Class C CDL license with passenger endorsement is required.
This position will be based at our APT garage, located in Athens. The starting salary for Class A and B CDL licensed driver is $16.35/hour ($17,000/yr.). The starting salary for Class C CDL licensed driver is $15.87/hour ($16,500/yr.) Part-time position includes paid sick, vacation, and holiday leave.
Buses operate Monday-Saturday with day, evening, and late-night shifts.
Qualifications:
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class “B” with passenger endorsement
(HAPCAP may be able to support applicants to get their passenger endorsement if they don’t already have it.) - One year minimum CDL driving experience.
- Good driving record.
- Self-motivated, able to work well both independently and with others.
- Must have access to reliable transportation and report for duty on time; schedule-minded.
- Must be in good general health and able to pass a DOT-mandated physical.
- Must have normal vision and hearing with the aid of corrective devices if needed.
- Must submit to FTA-approved drug/alcohol testing. This is a zero-tolerance work site.
- Must pass a civilian background check and all DOT certifications and training.
- Must have good basic math skills.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.

Part Time Maintenance Worker (Athens)
Hocking Athens Perry Community Action (HAPCAP) is hiring for the position of part-time Maintenance Worker for Athens Public Transit. APT is a public transit fixed route service in Southeast Ohio. The service connects the communities of Athens, The Plains, Chauncey, Nelsonville, and Albany. This position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness of APT fleet and facility.
This part-time position includes paid sick, vacation and holiday leave and will be based at our APT garage, located in Athens. This positon begins at $15.39 hour ($16,000 yr.), and will be 25-29 hours a week.
We are looking for applicants who are capable of working individually and as a team, possess excellent communication skills, able to work effectively with other staff members and pays attention to detail.
Qualifications:
- Self-motivated, able to work well both independently and with others.
- Must have access to reliable transportation and report of duty on time
- Must be in good general health and able to pass a non-DOT physical
- Must submit to FTA-approved drug/alcohol testing. This is a zero-tolerance work site.
- Must pass a civilian background check
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- CDL licensing is preferred, but not required
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Must be able to physically bend, twist, lift, reach overhead, and lift up to 60 lbs.
- Must be able to handle exposure to elements such as odor, noise, dust, heat or cold

Agency Relations Specialist
Hocking Athens Perry Community Action (HAPCAP) is looking for an Agency Relations Specialist at the Southeast Ohio Foodbank in Logan. The Agency Relations Specialist acts as a liaison between the Foodbank and our member pantries and meal sites to ensure effective, efficient and equitable distribution of food to our ten counties. This position inspects and monitors pantries and meal sites to ensure they meet compliance standards. The Specialist provides orientation and training for new agencies/sites and their personnel, as well as ongoing training for existing agencies and sites. Finally, the Specialist collects and reports relevant data monthly from all member agencies and meal sites, including statistical data of populations served
A high school diploma or GED is required. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. In addition, applicants must possess very good computer and organizational skills and have the ability to communicate with people of all socioeconomic backgrounds. A commitment to addressing the causes and conditions of poverty and hunger is essential.
This is a full-time position within a dynamic, service-oriented work environment. The salary for this position starts and $37,500 annually and includes 100% health, dental, and vision coverage for the employee, a generous paid time off package, retirement plan with 6% employer matching, and periodic Cost of Living Adjustments (COLA).

Meals on Wheels Driver
Hocking Athens Perry Community Action is now accepting resumes for the position of Meals on Wheels Driver stationed at our Southeast Ohio Foodbank in Logan. The position is responsible for delivering meals to our Meals on Wheels clients, reporting roster information, assisting in packaging and loading of meals, and serving as a liaison between the participants and the kitchen. The position would also be responsible for assisting with kitchen duties such as prepping, packaging, cooking meals, and working at congregate dining sites when needed.
Candidates must have a High School diploma or GED. Applicants must also have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license. The position is full time, 40 hours per week. Hours of work are Monday-Friday, from 7:00AM to 3:00PM.

Job Supervisor - Housing Office
Hocking Athens Perry Community Action (HAPCAP) is seeking applications to fill
available full time Job Supervisor in our Housing and Community Development
Division. The Job Supervisor position is responsible for supervising assigned crew for
the Home Weatherization Assistance Program (HWAP) and WarmChoice Program
which provides energy efficient measures in client’s homes such as blown in
insulation, air sealing, and ventilation. The Job Supervisor position is responsible for
maintaining inventory, completing assigned job specifications in compliance with
Standard Work Specifications, completing paperwork associated with job, and
providing consumer education. Candidate must be able to communicate well with
others including inspectors, clients, suppliers, and supervisor.
Applicants must have basic knowledge of or interest in the construction trades, be
able to work at heights and/or in confined spaces, and be able to lift a minimum of 50
pounds. Applicants must have completed or be willing to complete training courses
to include but not limited to: EPA Lead RRP, Basic Weatherization Tactics, Blower
Door Use, and OSHA 10. Applicants must have a valid drivers license and have a
good driving record.
The position will be based at our Housing Office, located in Nelsonville. The starting
salary is $17.31/hour ($36,000/yr) with full fringe benefits including but not limited to

Heating Technician
Hocking Athens Perry Community Action is excited to announce a new position at the
agency, Heating Technician. HAPCAP is seeking to recruit one of these positions to
assist our Home Weatherization Assistance Program (HWAP) program with HVAC
related work as it pertains to energy conservation as well as health and safety in residential
settings.
Applicants must have at least one year of HVAC experience (two preferred) and the EPA 608
Technician Certification Type II or Universal. Applicants must be able to work at heights as
well as in confined spaces and must possess an ability to achieve production requirements.
Applicants must be highly organized and attentive to detail, have a strong work ethic, possess a
valid Ohio driver’s license, have a good driving record and have access to reliable transportation.
The successful applicant must have or be able to complete training programs such as Heating
Technician Training, Heating Unit Inspection, Lead EPA RRP, and OSHA 10. The salary for
Heating Technician is $40,000 - $45,000 per year with full fringe benefits including but not
limited to paid sick and vacation leave, select paid holidays, and health, dental, and vision
insurance.
