HAPCAP Continues PIPP Plus and Home Energy Assistance Programs
The Winter Crisis Program (WCP) ended on May 1st, but families are still facing high energy bills. The PIPP Plus program can assist if you have Columbia Gas and/or American Electric Power (AEP). Hocking Athens Perry Community Action will continue to schedule appointments for the Percentage of Income Payment Plan (PIPP Plus) program for customers of regulated utilities such as AEP and Columbia Gas. Households with a total gross income at or below 150% of the Federal Poverty level may be eligible. The utility must be in the name of an adult household member. The Home Energy Assistance program (Regular HEAP) will continue until June 1, 2020. Customers at or below 175% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines receive a one-time benefit typically in the form of a direct payment towards the main heating source.
There will be no face-to-face appointments. Utility assistance programs will be via phone call only. Please call 1 (844) 625-8777 to make an appointment. Those needing appointments are urged to make sure they provide a reliable phone number that can be answered at the time of their scheduled appointment. A list of required documents needed and instructions on how to submit the required documentation will be provided during the phone interview.
Appointments can be obtained by calling an Integrated Voice Response (IVR) system. The IVR scheduling system will be available 24 hours a day 7 days a week. This scheduling system can be reached by calling toll free 1.844.625.8777.
