Athens Public Transit
APT now runs six bus lines Monday-Saturday, serving all of Athens, The Plains, and Chauncey.
Athens Public Transit has been running for many years with an operations staff of 18 drivers, one mechanic and two administrative personnel. To this core group HAPCAP now adds the expertise of its transportation management staff; we began managing the system as designated grantee at the beginning of 2012.
General public bus fare is $1.00, with a reduced fare of $0.50 available for patrons who are elderly or have disabilities (subject to verification).
All vehicles are built to ADA standards to better serve patrons with disabilities.
