Perry Flood Program Crew Leaders/Laborers

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action is excited to announce that it has openings for 2 Flood Crew Leaders and 10 Flood Crew Laborers to operate the Perry County Disaster Recovery Program.  Applicants must enjoy working outdoors and be able to lift at least 50 pounds. These positions are temporary for the duration of up to 12 months or 2,080 hours, whichever is longer.

To be considered for either position applicants must have earned a High School Diploma or GED, and meet Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) eligibility criteria for dislocated worker. You may qualify if you are unemployed, been terminated or laid off, were self-employed or are a transitioning service member, recently separated veteran, or displaced homemaker.

2 Flood Program Crew Leaders – The Crew Leader is responsible for supervising and working alongside a crew of flood relief laborers in the clean up, restoration, and debris removal from areas affected by flooding in Perry County, to ensure that crew members abide by all safety rules and regulations, and work sites are maintained with order and safety.  The crew leader will on a daily basis ensure that all equipment and tools are accounted for and are operated by crew according to instructions and with appropriate safety apparel.  The salary for this position is $12.02 per hour plus full fringe benefits.

10 Flood Program Crew Laborers – Under supervision of the Flood Program Crew Leader, the Flood Program Crew Laborer is responsible for performing work to remove debris resulting from flooding in areas such as creeks, culverts, and bridges.  Laborers will load removed materials for transport to disposal sites.  Laborers will responsibly and safely operate and maintain chainsaws, shovels, rakes and other hand tools necessary to complete job assignments as well as proper handling of all tools and equipment. The salary for these positions is $11.06 per hour plus full fringe benefits.

Training will be provided and Labors and Crew Leaders will be required to pass all training components successfully in order to work.
