The Ohio Benefit Bank (OBB)
The Ohio Benefit Bank (OBB) is a Web-based service that is available for Ohioans who are in need of help.
Through no fault of their own, many Ohioans are being forced to make tough decisions each and every day, such as choosing between paying rent or buying food. In an effort to eliminate such choices from having to be made and to help Ohioans gain access to programs that are available for those in need, The Ohio Benefit Bank is now available at your fingertips!
- SNAP Food Assistance (formerly Food Stamps)
- The Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP)
- Child care subsidies
- FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)
- And even file their Federal and State taxes for FREE!
Anyone can access The Ohio Benefit Bank from:
- The comfort of your home
- A local library that has internet access
- The computer of a trained Ohio Benefit Bank counselor
- Any other computer with internet access
You can see what programs are available, what some of the eligibility requirements are when applying or check your potential eligibility in as quickly as 90 seconds!
The Ohio Benefit Bank ‘Quick Check’ will help you determine if you are eligible for any benefits.
If you need assistance using The Ohio Benefit Bank HAPCAP has trained counselors in your community that can help. We are here to help guide you through the OBB process and answer any questions you may have. During tax season we schedule appointments at the Regional Food Center for free tax clinics with our trained counselors.
If you are interested in becoming and volunteering as an OBB counselor we strongly encourage you to join! You can attend a training session held right in your community.
