Housing & Community Development Specialist

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action (HAPCAP) is excited to announce that it has a new Community Development Specialist position opening. The ideal candidate will be community oriented and enthusiastic about working with local governments and the Athens County Land Reutilization Corporation (ACLRC) also known as the Athens County Land Bank.


The essential job functions of the Community Development Specialist position will include working with local governments to assist in performing Community Development administrative duties such as environmental reviews, contractor procurement, citizen participation, fair housing duties and project/contract management. Additionally, this position will also work closely with the ACLRC to pursue funding sources for Land Bank activities, manage demolition projects, compile and submit reports and use online databases. The most qualified candidates will show a proficiency in public speaking and the ability to work with contractors and demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively with various interest groups and the public. Housing and Community Development experience is preferred but not mandatory.


This is a full time position that will be open until filled. Salary is $30,000 annually and includes a fully paid fringe benefits package. HAPCAP is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
