Housing Rehabilitation Specialist

The Housing & Community Development Division is currently accepting applications and resumes for a Housing Rehab Specialist position at the Housing office in Nelsonville. 

The essential job functions of the Housing Rehab Specialist are the day-to-day operations of the Community Housing & Impact Program (CHIP) and Ohio Housing Trust Fund (OHTF) Housing programs.  The successful candidate will be responsible for initial and final home inspections which includes being knowledgeable of the State of Ohio’s Residential Rehab Standards (RRS).  Additional duties will include creating job specifications and being able to relay those specifications to clients and contractors effectively as well as management of contractors to ensure work is being done properly and per the specifications.  Person must be knowledgeable in all construction trades.  Must be able to communicate well with others including funding sources, clients, suppliers, and contractors.  This position requires agency provided job training such as but not limited to Lead Risk Assessor licensure, EPA Lead Renovation Repair and Painting (RRP) certification and Lead Abatement licensure.  Applicants must be highly organized and attentive to detail, have excellent written and verbal skills, possess a good driving record and have access to reliable transportation. 

This is a full time position that will be open until filled.  Salary is $30,000 annually and includes a fully paid fringe benefits package.   HAPCAP is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
