Habitat for Humanity
Hocking. Athens. Perry Community Action is dedicated to alleviating the effects of poverty on families and communities. Unfortunately, many of these effects have to do with a lack of affordable and reliable housing.
To address housing issues in our community HAPCAP partners with local Habitat for Humanity chapters. Working together we are able to help those most in need secure healthy and safe homes.
Habitat for Humanity is a nondenominational Christian based organization that builds and repairs homes around the world to those most in need. Through Habitat, thousands of low-income families have found new hope in the form of affordable housing. Churches, community groups and others have joined together to successfully tackle a significant social problem decent housing for all.
To date Habitat for Humanity has built more than 400,000 houses,
sheltering more than 2 million people worldwide!
HAPCAP is proud to partner with local Habitat for Humanity chapters to make a difference in our communities in many different ways.
Our housing division helps secure and disburse funds to Habitat to pay for the costs of building news homes. Through the Community Housing Improvement Project (CHIP) we are able to provide around $20,000 worth of grant money, per build, to the Hocking and Athens Counties Habitat for Humanity chapters.
We help guide them through the build; from environmental evaluation to zoning laws, we make sure the job will get done.
As time goes on we hope to continue and expand our partnership with Habitat for Humanity.
