Employment
and Economic Development
The following projects are operated by the Employment and Economic
Development Division.
Dislocated Worker Services:
Designed to meet
the special needs of individuals who have been laid off from their
jobs and need assistance to re-enter the work force. Services
include retraining and supportive services.
Public Transportation:
In cooperation with The City of Logan and ODOT, we are now offering taxi services for the citizens of Logan, OH. All our vans are handicap accessible. This service is available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, dial 740-385-6999.
Hocking
County Youth Program:
Youth Workforce Investment Act (WIA)
Services for Hocking County. Training and supportive services
for in and out of school youth. Summer employment and training.
Scholarship
Assistance Program:
Provides financial assistance to students
who are residents of the 30 counties in the Corporation for Ohio
Appalachian Development service area and want to attend college
but lack the required resources. Applications are available
from our agency each spring.
Athens Mobility Management Program:
Mobility Management seeks to optimize ALL transportation resources in our community. Helping to inform, improve, and assist specialized transportation needs for older adults, people with disabilities, and individuals with lower incomes through a wide range of general public activities. Nutrition
Food and
nutrition
programs
provide
nutritious
meals daily
to isolated
elderly
residents
(Meals-on-Wheels)
and children
in child
care facilities
through
the Food
Service
Kitchen
in Logan,
Ohio. Catering
services
are also
available.
The Second
Harvest
Foodbank
of Southeastern
Ohio recovers
surplus
wholesome
food products
and distributes
them to
member
feeding
agencies
in ten
counties
of southeastern
Ohio.

programs
seek to
increase
the supply
of affordable,
safe and
decent
housing
for low
and moderate
income
families
by using
public
and private
resources.
Energy
conservation
and emergency
energy
assistance
services
are also
available.

in cooperation
with the
County
Commissioners
of Hocking,
Athens
and Perry
Counties.
