Hocking Athens Perry Community Action (HAPCAP) is seeking a curious, motivated, and organized person for an AmeriCorps VISTA position that will work with HAPCAP’s Employment Programs.

The VISTA will help develop and improve the structure and programming of the Hocking Employment Programs in order to increase employment opportunities for low-income youth. The VISTA will focus program improvements on meeting the needs of the clients. They will also create an evaluation model that will be incorporated into current programming and used in the future to ensure that the programs are continually meeting the needs of the clients. Additionally, the VISTA will be in charge of creating a replicable program model that can be utilized by other counties to increase the capacity of their youth employment programs. They will also research, collect and organize informational resources from other community organizations that could help reduce clients’ barriers to employment and education.

We are looking for applicants who are capable of working both individually and as a team, and possess excellent communication and critical thinking skills.

This position will be based at the Regional Food Center, located in Logan, OH. The program benefits include a living allowance, childcare assistance (if eligible), choice of education award or end of service stipend, and a relocation allowance.
