Summer
Cooling Program 2008
Hocking
. Athens . Perry Community Action is now taking appointments for its Summer Cooling Program. The program will begin on July 1, 2008 and will operate until all funds are obligated, but no later than August
31, 2008. This program provides assistance for electric bills for households with members 60 years of age or older and/or families with certain medical conditions. Due to an unprecedented need for assistance during the Winter Crisis Program, the benefit will be reduced this season. There will be NO air conditioner assistance.
Eligible
clients may receive a one-time benefit, up to $100 payment toward their
electric bill. All applicants must bring:
- proof
of income for the past three months
- a
copy of their electric bill, gas bill, and/or documentation of main heating source such as propane.
- social
security cards for everyone in the household
- birth certificate, driver's license, or other document that clearly shows age.
- documentation
from a physician stating that the client or someone in the client's
household has a medical condition which requires electric (if under the
age of 60).
Please
call your local Community Action Office for an appointment or if
you have any questions. Walk-in appointments are available
